The 2018 BMW M240i Convertible is a thrilling top-down sports car

The 2 Series is BMW's most affordable new convertible.

The M240i packs a 3.0-liter inline-six rated for 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, along with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The M240i also gets upgraded brakes, suspension and tires to go along with its punchy engine.

The power convertible top can be opened or closed in 22 seconds while driving at up to 30 miles per hour.

This M240i Convertible can hit 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

Drive it more gently, and the M240i Convertible will return decent fuel economy figures of 21 miles per gallon city, 30 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined.

Pricing for the M240i Convertible starts at $50,895 with destination, but this model is optioned up to $56,345.

The M240i cannot be equipped with adaptive cruise control because its radar unit would block too much of the grille, reducing cooling for the turbo engine.

BMW also offer the M240i with all-wheel drive for buyers who want more traction.
