2017 GMC Sierra HD is big, beefy and bustin' a move
Whether you want to tow your camper, haul your toys or hit the dirt, the GMC Sierra HD can do it in style.
If you've got toys to tow, the 2017 GMC Sierra HD should be on your short list of heavy duty trucks.
Although it's available with a gas-powered 6.0-liter V8 engine, we tested the new 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel, pumping out 445 horsepower and a staggering 910 pound-feet of torque.
The Sierra 3500 HD can tow 22,900 pounds with a fifth wheel or 20,000 with a ball hitch.
The 4x4 system has an electronic locker that will engage automatically if it detects wheel slippage.
Max payload in the Sierra 3500 is nearly 4,000 pounds.
The front fascia is dominated by a massive grill. Big enough to swallow small woodland creatures whole, I bet.
The Sierra 2500 is also available as an All Terrain X special edition for off-road fun.
It's mostly an appearance package, but it does include meaty tires, skid plates and off-road suspension.
Whether you choose the Sierra 2500 or 3500 HD, the interior is very well-appointed with leather seats and the excellent Intellilink infotainment system.
