2017 Audi A5 Sportback: Because regular sedans aren't cool enough for whatever reason
Sporting a more capacious rear end and, well, that's about it, the A5 Sportback hardly differs from its more pedestrian A5 stablemate, aside from the whole two-extra-doors thing.

If you're looking for some sort of revelatory model that changes paradigms and so forth, look elsewhere.
This is merely a 2017 Audi A5 with two more doors and a more spacious trunk than the A4, which also has four doors.
Confused? You're not alone.
Yet, this is a popular market. BMW has the 4 Series Gran Coupe, which is the A5 Sportback's prime competitor.
Think of it as a smaller A7.
It will be sold in three distinct trims -- A5, S5 and A5 g-tron.
The standard A5 will feature multiple gasoline engines with a focus on efficiency.
Step up to the S5, and you get a 354-horsepower V6 that's ready to get speedy.
You can also opt for the A5 g-tron, which runs on either gasoline, natural gas or Audi's synthetic e-gas.
There's no word on whether it will come to the US, but it seems like it would do well here. It releases in Europe early next year.
