2016 Jaguar F-Type breaks hearts from any angle (pictures)
The Jaguar F-Type is one of the best looking new cars on the road, and even though not much has changed in the 2016 model year, we'll still take any opportunity to look again.
2016 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe
All in a row
What you see are a series of R Coupe models, lined up and ready for action at Monticello in New York City.
Min. headroom
The Coupe version of the car looks absolutely stunning, but does offer somewhat limited headroom.
Hot stuff
It's truly a looker from any angle.
Stop it!
Carbon ceramic brakes are a $12,000 option on the R.
Inward mounting
Massive yellow calipers are mounted inward, for better weight distribution.
Attention to...
Every detail is beautifully integrated.
...Detail
Every detail.
Lovely
The car looks quite good in this shade of white, which has a deep, pearlescent effect.
Merit badges
Subtle badging differentiates the S from R.
Not much overhang
Rear overhangs are incredibly short.
Diffusing the situation
The rear diffuser is body-matched and looks particularly good with lighter colors.
On the inside
Here's a cutaway model, showing off the aluminum structure.
Brakes exposed
A better look at those carbon brakes.
Pack light
Luggage space is limited in either model, but you can just about get a set of golf clubs in the Coupe.
Pass the shoehorn
Space under the hood is limited, too. This is the V-6. Somehow a V-8 fits, too.
Cockpit
Interior is nicely appointed, and this is the new six-speed manual.
Handle this
The car handles quite well on the track, shown here on Monticello.
Neutral handling
Handling, even in the AWD car, is very neutral. It does slide toward understeer, but not terminally so.
MSRP
The 2016 Jaguar F-Type hits dealerships soon, starting at $65,000 for a base Coupe and going way, way up from there. (International pricing and options configurations vary.)
