2016 Audi A6 facelift adds power, style and electronics (pictures)

Audi gave the A6 model a number of updates for the 2016 model year, including more powerful engines and a new generation of dashboard electronics.

Audi redesigned the A6 grille to conform with newer models in its line-up, using a single frame and separation from the front aero effects.

Instead of the loopy LED running lights of past Audi models, the new A6 shows off a continuous white light stripe.

Audi offers a number of engines in the A6, from this 2-liter four-cylinder turbo to both gasoline and diesel 3-liter V-6s.

The A6 is a large sedan with a spacious cabin with room for five.

The A6 can be had in front-wheel-drive format as a base model, or Quattro all-wheel drive with any of its engine options.

Even in the lower trims, the seats feature a good array of power adjustments.

The rear bench offers a reasonable amount of space for adults.

An electric power steering system allows for different settings, from Comfort in the city to Dynamic on twisty roads.

Audi offers the A6 with a very efficient and fast eight-speed automatic transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual, depending on engine choice.

The 2016 A6 lets the driver select the Google Earth view on the instrument cluster display.

Likewise, the center display can also show Google Earth imagery with the navigation system.

Audi updated the dashboard electronics in the A6, using its new modular approach to update the chip to Nvidia's Tegra 3 and include the latest generation of its software.

The Audi Connect services in the A6 now rely on a dedicated 4G connection in the car.

Drivers can use the DriveSelect feature for different performance profiles.

Along with a detailed rear-view camera, buyers can also opt for surround-view and a wealth of  driver-assist systems, from adaptive cruise control to night vision.
