This is the 2015 Energica Ego, an Italian-made electric superbike.
We recently had the opportunity to test one on the twisty, and sometimes sup-bar roads in Upstate NY.
Its nose is somewhat polarizing...
...but the overall look of a compact sport bike is quite modern and compelling.
The Energica logo on the "tank."
This is one of the Ego 45 limited edition models, with carbon fiber bodywork.
Brembo brakes and Ohlins forks up front. Nothing but the best.
Custom rearsets next to the electric motor.
The bike has a traditional swingarm and chain-driven drivetrain.
Another look at the motor, which is tucked in just ahead of the swingarm.
Custom machined components. The copper piece is 3D-printed from one of CRP Group's manufacturing proccesses.
The mode indicator, which toggles throttle modes and more.
The TFT LCD is a bit hard to see in bright sunlight, but has plenty of information.
The most polarizing part of the Ego's looks. Hawk? Yamaha R1?
