2014 Infiniti Q50 doubles down on touch screens (pictures)

The automaker's G Sedan replacement features a new InTouch infotainment system that uses two touch screens.

Hybrid option

The sport sedan debuts with two power-train options: a 3.7-liter V-6 engine that makes 328 horsepower and a 3.5-liter hybrid engine that we've seen previously in the Infiniti M35h.

AWD or FWD?

Both the standard and the hybrid models will be available in rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations.

Safety systems

Two new driver assistance technologies debut with the Q50: Direct Adaptive Steering and Active Lane Assist. Direct Adaptive Steering is an upgraded version of the automaker's electronic power-steering system that features four different settings.

Active Lane Control

Active Lane Control is a camera-based system that helps keep the sedan centered in its lane while cruising. We saw a version of this tech in operation in the automaker's 2013 JX35 crossover.

Infiniti InTouch

The automaker's new infotainment system, dubbed InTouch, also debuted in the dashboard of the new sedan. The system uses two touch screens to split the load. Infiniti thinks it will be easier to use and more intuitive. What do you think?

Design language

The sedan features a rounded design language inspired by the Essence concept that brings it more in line with the M sedan.

Coming summer 2013

Infiniti expects the 2014 Q50 sedan to go on sale later this year. Pricing and packaging have not yet been announced, but we don't expect that it will be far off of the G37 sedan's numbers.
