The Subaru concept we won't ever see

The Subaru XV Concept is an absolute stunner. But if Subaru's track record is any indication, the production vehicle won't look anything like it.

The Subaru XV Concept has just debuted at the Geneva Motor Show this year, and it looks great. The concept features Subie's new Dynamic X Solid design language. Judging from the press release, all that means is that it's an expression of "Enjoyment and Peace of Mind."

Frankly I don't care what you call it. I like it. This concept looks to be the next generation of the XV Crosstrek, a more rugged and off-road-worthy version of the Impreza. The XV Concept will more than likely have similar ground clearance and utility as the current Crosstrek. What's disappointing is that the sweet zigzag headlights and orange accents on the grille, bumpers, and wheels probably won't make it to the production vehicle.

No word yet on any engine offerings yet, but the current Crosstrek offers up a 2.0-liter in both gas and hybrid powerplants.
