Some concept cars aren't afraid to get weird. The Lexus UX Concept, debuting at the Paris Motor Show this month, is definitely weird. We haven't seen much of the outside, but Lexus gave us a peek inside, and let me tell you, I have no idea what's going on.

The UX Concept represents some proper forward thinking on Lexus' part, largely because most of the interior's unique touches are currently way too expensive to mass-produce. The instrument cluster features a transparent globe that displays information. The center console has a hologram-style display for the climate controls.

It only gets weirder from there...somehow. The windows are like those on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, changing opacity with electricity. The A-pillars are finned, which has to violate crash standards. Cameras have replaced the mirrors, and there's a removable sound bar in front of the passenger. It's like the designers dropped acid before brainstorming. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Clearly, none of this has any basis in reality, and any Lexus model based off the UX concept will be much more down to earth. Nevertheless, kudos to the automaker for actually getting weird with it, and we can't wait to see it in Paris.
