The automaker looks back on 25 years of the Legacy sedan and looks forward with a hot new concept at the 2013 LA Auto Show.

Hot on the tail of its announcement of the production Subaru Impreza WRX, the automaker has released shots of the 2015 Subaru Legacy Concept, which will debut alongside the 'Rex at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
According to the automaker, this concept celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Subaru Legacy and provides a look at the styling cues for future Legacy models. Taking a look at the released images, the future of the Legacy looks a lot like a toned-down variant of the Subaru WRX concept that bowed in New York earlier this year.

Like the WRX, the Legacy concept is a sedan that features a more coupelike silhouette, tucking its second set of doors into the Flared wheel arches and, when viewed from certain angles, hiding them altogether.
The fascia features a hexagonal grill that is flanked by a pair of "hawk-eye" headlamps, which sit above a pair of deeply recessed lower intakes. The front end's design is echoed at the rear, where the rear lights feature a similar design to the headlamps and sit above a pair of rectangular exhaust tips that are integrated and deeply recessed into the rear bumper.
Concept car 21-inch wheels probably won't make it to production when the next Legacy is introduced next year -- if the "2015" in the name is any hint -- but the standard Subaru Symmetrical all-wheel-drive drivetrain most certainly will.
While I'm more excited about the prospect of driving a new WRX as early as next year, the Legacy Concept is gorgeous and I'm equally excited about checking it out in-the-round at the 2013 LA Auto Show next week. We'll be taking lots of pictures, so be sure to check back for more details as they emerge.
