Saab resumes production in Sweden

Production resumes at Saab Automobile's plant in Trollhattan, Sweden. All-new Saab 9-5 sedan was first car down the line.

The all-new Saab 9-5 sedan was first car down the line Monday at Saab Automobile's plant in Trollhättan, Sweden. Saab halted production at the plant for seven weeks following its purchase by Spyker Cars NV.

Five model lines will be produced at the plant, including a Saab convertible and the 9-5 SportCombi, which will be introduced next year, according to Saab news release.

"We are up and running as an independent manufacturer and I am delighted to share the experience on the line alongside our workforce. They have shown tremendous commitment to the company and we are all now focused on ramping up production to meet customer demand," said Saab Automobile CEO Jan-Åke Jonsson.
