Porsche is offering the biggest engine yet for the 911. A 4-liter flat-six engine will be in only 600 of the 2011 911 GT3 RS 4.0 vehicles, the German automaker announced. This is the the highest displacement 911 engine to date.

The 911 GT3 RS 4.0 boasts a maximum power of 500 horsepower at 8,250 rpm with a maximum 339 pound-feet of torque at 5,750 rpm.

The two-seater limited edition will only come in white. With a curb weight of 2,998 pounds, the 911 comes standard with lightweight components such as carbon fiber sport bucket seats, carbon fiber front fenders and luggage compartment lid, and weight-optimized carpets. The 911 GT3 RS 4.0's power-to-weight ratio is 5.99 pounds per horsepower.

The body design is also more aerodynamic, featuring air deflection vanes mounted on both sides of the front bumper (called "flics" or dive planes), a large rear wing with side plates and a central twin tailpipe.

Porsche is offering this limited edition for $185,000 plus destination charges.
