Honda has released the first details about its next-generation CR-V, which will probably arrive in Australia some time in 2012.
The car pictured above is a "concept" car that differs only marginally from the version that will eventually spew forth from Honda factories around the world. Reduce the tinting, shrink the alloy wheels down a size or two, give the wing mirrors a dose of steroids, tone down the body kit and — voila! — a production ready fourth-generation CR-V.
Honda has not yet confirmed nor denied rumours that the new car will feature a third row of seats. The company only goes so far as saying that the new CR-V will weigh less, be more fuel efficient and feature a boot with a lower floor.
Visitors to the Orange County Auto Show in California in September will be among the first to see the CR-V concept. Sales begin in the US at the end of 2011 and in Europe during Q2 2012.
