Gran Turismo Awards winner to be included in game
One of the rides at the 2011 SEMA Show will be digitally immortalized as part of the Gran Turismo series of racing sims.
There will literally be hundreds of custom cars and tricked-out trucks filling the halls and parking lots of the Las Vegas Convention Center when the 2011 SEMA Show rolls through between November 1 and 4. (Don't believe me? Check out last year's coverage for a glimpse of the 2010 turnout.) This year, as in years prior, one of those rides will be digitally immortalized as part of Sony/Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo series of racing sims.
People exhibiting or displaying a car or truck at the 2011 SEMA Show can enter their ride in one of five categories (Truck/SUV, Asian Import, European Import, Domestic Auto, or Hot Rod) to be judged by a panel of enthusiasts, journalists, and car gals and guys. The top entrant in each category will be presented to Gran Turismo creator, Polyphony Digital CEO, and legendary car nut Kazumori Yamauchi. Yamauchi will then pick one "Best of Show" vehicle to be digitally re-created and included in a future edition of Gran Turismo for PlayStation platforms.
If you're interested in taking a shot at getting your car in the game, find the entry form here.
