This year's 24 Hours of Le Mans is set to be a big one. It's always one of the pinnacles of motorsport each year, but this year, Ford is back. The GT once walloped Ferrari with a 1-2-3 finish, and Ford hopes it can recapture that spirit with its new GT-inspired Le Mans car. You may never drive this GT in real life, but you can now take one for virtual spin with your Xbox One.
Hop into Forza Motorsport 6 right now and download a free copy of Ford's GT racecar, which will make its real-life Le Mans debut on June 18. If you've already played the game, you should have a download code in your Xbox Live inbox. You don't need to drive it at Le Mans, unless you have an insatiable fetish for simulating real life.
Ford will field four GT racers -- two from FIA World Endurance Championship and two from IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship -- in France this year. The cars will compete in the GTE Pro class, where they'll do battle against Ferrari's 488 GTE, Chevrolet's Corvette C7.R and the venerable Porsche 911 RSR.
If your inbox is empty, don't fret. In its press release, Ford says that the sheer number of codes to distribute mean that it may take up to a week for everyone to get their download code. That leaves you plenty of time between now and Le Mans to fire it up.
