Add this to your Christmas list--one of two 1970 Mercedes-Benz 600s once owned by Elvis Presley will be auctioned at Bonham's year-end sale in December.
The $15,000 Mercedes-Benzwas originally purchased in 1969 by the King who paid $5,500 in cash and financed the balance, according to an article in Auto123.com.
He kept the car for two years before giving it to a friend, James Leroy Robertson. The car traded hands again before being put up for auction at the Important Motor Cars and Fine Automobilia sale at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, England on December 6.
Aside from previously being owned by the King, the restored vehicle is significant because it was one of only a handful of vehicles that Presley registered in his name and has an estimated value of $230,000 to $300,000.
Also on the auction block is a Ferrari 550 GTZ--one of only five examples of the car bodied by the famous Italian carrozeria Zagato and the only right-hand drive example. No estimated value for the Ferrari was given.
