Behind the wheel of the 2010 Audi A3 TDI Diesel

Get a driver's seat view as the clean diesel A3 TDI from Audi hits the road.

I assume most people who are reading this watched the big game on Sunday, right? Then you probably saw the cute commercial during the second half that depicted "The Green Police" cracking down on people for using environmentally unsound products. But apparently the eco-cops approve of the 2010 Audi A3 TDI Diesel--after all, it was named Green Car of the Year by Green Car Journal. Earlier this week we got a chance to get the low down on what the A3 TDI clean diesel hybrid is all about. But we've yet to see what it's like to drive the A3 from the driver's perspective. I've dug up a video shot from the driver's perspective as he takes this new Audi onto the open road to show us how it moves.

This video seems to have been produced by an Audi dealer, and compared with other YouTube vids shot by dealers, this one is actually pretty effective. The fact that the camera doesn't shake or move a lot should tell you that the 2010 A3 TDI is sturdy and smooth in handling. Along the way we also get to see the car's punchy power and how quickly this four-cylinder engine can accelerate--an attribute not typically associated with hybrids. And of course we also get a rundown on some of the many details we've taken in on my previous video blogs as the driver tries to sell the car--after all, that's the bottom line here. But if nothing else, we get to vicariously go for a ride on a sunny day and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
