2012 Dodge Caliber
The 2012 model year marked the final year for Dodge's five-door Caliber compact after initially arriving on the scene for 2007 to replace the Neon. With more cargo carrying versatility than a regular sedan, Dodge looked to set itself apart with the Caliber's hatchback body, but disappointingly wasn't able to gain much traction against established models in the segment like the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic and Ford Focus. Throughout the Caliber's run, it was available with various four-cylinder engines ranging from a 1.8-liter base motor, to a turbocharged 2.4-liter with 285 horsepower connected to a six-speed manual transmission in the high-performance SRT4 model. For 2012, the lineup was simplified to include only a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter joined with a five-speed manual in SE and SXT Plus models, or a continuously variable transmission that was standard on SXT trims, but available on the SXT Plus.
