Chrysler's retro-themed 5-door hatchback first came on to the scene as a 2001 model, with a 2-door convertible following in 2005. The PT Cruiser came with a standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, and over its production life was offered in up to 7 different models. However, by the time of its demise in 2010, only one trim was offered. Although some look back on the PT Cruiser as one of the worst cars in history, it was well-received upon its launch, nabbing the coveted North American Car of the Year Award in 2001.
