Vizio has announced its largest sound bar yet, the 54-inch S5430W-C2, designed to accompany larger televisions. The sound bar is a 3.0 system, according to Vizio, with a Left, Right, and Center channel. In addition, the unit incorporates a passive bass radiator at the rear and the company claims you don't need to buy a separate subwoofer. If you need even more bass, the model does incorporate a subwoofer output. The company says it plans to release another model in the future that adds a sub.

The other connections include HDMI in and out, two auxiliary stereo inputs, and optical and coaxial digital. If you prefer to connect your mobile device wirelessly, the soundbar features Bluetooth with aptX support for "near-CD-quality" streaming. Vizio also throws in all of the relevant cables, including HDMI.

The look of the sound bar is designed to complement Vizio televisions, of course, with the same "tab" in the bottom right corner, and the unit can be wall-mounted.

Instead of providing the system's power rating, Vizio has chosen to illustrate its volume handling by saying it reaches 103db with less than 1 percent total harmonic distortion. In most rooms this will be plenty loud enough for even the most explosive action movie.

The sound bar is available now from Vizio.com for $299.99.
