Targus Jak Messenger

The Targus Jak Messenger is one of the least convenient notebook bags we've reviewed; if you're looking for a messenger bag, look to more functional and stylish options, such as the Belkin NE-07 notebook bag or the Mobile Edge Premium Messenger.

The Targus Jak Messenger is one of the least convenient notebook bags we've reviewed. There's almost no room in its main compartment for anything other than a 15.4-inch, wide-screen notebook; it has tons of really tiny pockets that are too small to be useful; the strap is uncomfortable and feels cheap; and its main compartment is remarkably hard to open and close because its plastic clip is recessed. The bag's secondary pocket has room for pens, two pockets that hold about two CD jewel cases each, and its one redeeming feature: a removable mesh pouch for cables. A water bottle holder can expand out of the bag's right side. Targus covers the Jak Messenger with a lifetime warranty. If you're looking for a messenger bag, look to more functional and stylish options like the Belkin NE-07 notebook bag or the Mobile Edge Premium Messenger.
