Quick Take: The Sony SLV-D570H is a combo VCR/DVD player. It features an HDMI output that can upscale DVDs to 720p and 1080i. Note that this is not a DVD recorder, so it's not possible to transfer your VHS tapes to DVD with this device. Sony offers a VHS player/DVD recorder, the RDR-VX530. The SLV-D570H ($170) will be available in July.
