Sony KDF-E2000

Sony KDF-E2000

Quick Take: The Sony KDF-E2000 series is the company's trio of entry-level, LCD-powered big-screen HDTVs for 2006. They include the 46-inch KDF-46E2000 ($2,200), which will ship midsummer, as well as the 50-inch KDF-50E2000 ($2500) and the 55-inch KDF-55E2000 ($3,000), both of which will ship in early summer. The sets' look and specs are hauntingly similar to those of last year's popular KDF-EA10 series, which included the compact, good-performing KDF-E50A10.
All three have a native resolution of 1,280x720, a built-in HDTV tuner, two HDMI inputs--which can also accept PC signals via a DVI-to-HDMI adapter--and three component-video inputs, including one on the front panel. Their speakers are mounted on the bottom of the sets, so they'll be easier to fit into tight spaces. We'll have more information, including a in-depth report in image quality, when we get our hands on a review sample.
