Sharp unveils flagship LE857 TV
Sharp’s flagship LE857 will be the new series. It will come in three sizes topping out at 80 inches.
LAS VEGAS--In the absence of a new Elite Pro, Sharp's flagship television for 2013 will be the new LE857 series, which will come in three sizes topping out at 80 inches.
The 60-inch LC-60LE857 will begin shipping in March, and the 70-inch LC-70LE857 and 80-inch LC-80LE857 will follow in April. Pricing is to be announced.
The top-end LE857 television will feature the company's proprietary four-color Quattron technology, and this is something it shares with the step-down 7 series.
The TV will include a smart TV suite and powered by a dual-core processor. A new SmartCentral feature enables users to watch video in a picture-by-picture mode with the TV's onboard Web browser.
Design is a focus for Sharp's 2013 range with both the 8 and 7 series featuring a brushed aluminum with the flagship also enjoying diamond-cut edges and a "stunning" silver finish.
Sharp has announced the TV will ship with two new Bluetooth 3D glasses, which don't require line of sight and are less subject to interference.
Other features include:
- Super Bright technology
- Aquos 1080p LED display
- Built-in Wi-Fi
- Aquomotion960 with 240Hz panel
- 35-watt audio with built-in subwoofer
- Wallpaper Mode displays preinstalled artwork or photos from a USB drive
