See all pricesLAS VEGAS -- For Nikon's Coolpix lineup, CES 2014 is all about covering the basics.
The biggest announcement is an update to its entry-level full-size megazoom, the L830. And really, it's not that much of an update.
It's essentially the same as 2013's L820, but has a new 34x 22.5-765mm lens and a 3-inch tilting LCD. It also has a new Dynamic Fine Zoom, which is a digital zoom that approximates up to a 1530mm focal length.
Powered by four AA-size batteries, the Coolpix L830 arrives in February for $299.99.
Nikon also announced four smaller compacts: The 12x zoom Coolpix S6800 and 8x zoom S5300, each with 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensors, the new Dynamic Fine Zoom, and built-in Wi-Fi; the S3600, which has the same 8x 25-200mm lens as the S5300 but changes to a 20-megapixel CCD sensor; and the L30, a AA-battery-powered compact with a 5x 26-130mm lens and a 20-megapixel CCD sensor.
The S6800, S5300, S3600, and L30 will sell for $219.95, $179.95, $139.95, and $119.95, respectively. All of them go on sale in February.
