HP Compaq Business Notebook nx6110

It's neither fast nor fancy, but for users who want a laptop for basic productivity work, the inexpensive HP Compaq nx6110 is a good fit.

HP Compaq Business Notebook nx6110 series
You can outfit the configurable HP Compaq nx6110 mainstream business laptop with many different components, beginning with either a Pentium M or Celeron M processor between 1.4GHz and 2.13GHz. All configurations include a 15-inch display, and you can choose a basic 1,024x768 or finer 1,400x1,050 native resolution; we recommend the higher resolution for a screen this size. In addition, the laptop ships with between 256MB and 1GB of somewhat slow 333MHz memory; swift 5,400rpm hard drives in capacities of 40GB to 60GB; a DVD-ROM, a DVD-ROM/CD-RW, or a DVD burner (including a double-layer DVD-burner option); integrated 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g wireless cards from Broadcom or Intel; and an Intel 915GM chipset that borrows up to 128MB of video memory from main RAM. Our $999 (as of September 2005) test configuration wasn't packed to the rafters, but it still performed well, and its battery lasted a long time. Head over to our full review for an all-encompassing look at the nx6110.
