GoGroove BlueVibe DLX Bluetooth headphones review: An affordable, if unspectacular, Bluetooth headphone

There's nothing terribly special about the $80 GoGroove BlueVibe DLX, it's an affordable wireless Bluetooth headphone that will be "good enough" for people on tighter budgets.

The GoGroove BlueVibe DLX is one among several generically styled wireless on-ear headphones that you can pick up online for an affordable price (around $80). Patently middle-of-the-road, they're the classic definition of a product that's "good enough." They look OK, fold up into an included protective carrying case that's pretty nice, and deliver reasonable performance, particularly when it comes to battery life, which clocks in at around 14 hours, depending on your volume level.

The Good

The GoGroove BlueVibe DLX is relatively comfortable on-ear wireless headphone that folds up into an included protective carrying case. It offers good battery life (14 hours) and comes with a three-year warranty.

The Bad

Ho-hum design and sound.

The Bottom Line

There's nothing terribly special about the GoGroove BlueVibe DLX, but it's an affordable wireless Bluetooth headphone that will be "good enough" for people on tighter budgets.

To their credit, the headphones are fairly comfortable and seem durable enough, though they do feel pretty plastic-y and make a crinkling noise when you bend the headband or adjust the headphones. GoGroove does offer a three-year warranty on the product.

The headphones have volume and transport control (pause/play, skip track forward/back) buttons on either side of the right earpiece. You can also plug in a cord (included) and use them as a wired headphone. And, as with all these types of stereo Bluetooth headsets, they have an integrated microphone for making hands-free calls and a call answer/end button.

Their sound is what I've come to expect from budget Bluetooth headphones. It's OK, but lacks the clarity and vibrancy you get from more expensive premium Bluetooth models (the Harman Kardon BT, for example), which can come close to sounding like good wired headphones. For those with more critical ears anyway, the BlueVibe DLX never lets you forget it's a Bluetooth headphone. There's a decent amount of bass, but it's just not all that tight and the sound seems a little canned (read: the opposite of open).

Conclusion There's nothing great about the GoGroove BlueVibe DLX. But there's also nothing terribly wrong with it. It offers some appeal to those on a budget looking for a wireless headphone. However, the only problem is that if you poke around Amazon, you'll find plenty of other products like it, some of which cost a little less.
