Fujitsu LifeBook P1500 Notebook

The easy-to-carry Fujitsu LifeBook P1500 series combines top-notch performance and a touch screen in a tablet form factor.

Fujitsu LifeBook P1500 Notebook series

Each paperback-sized Fujitsu LifeBook P1500-series convertible tablet carries a 1.2GHz Pentium M processor and integrated Intel graphics; from there you can choose up to 1GB of quick 400MHz RAM and either a 30GB or 60GB hard drive, though both drives spin at a sluggish 4,200rpm. The LifeBook P1500's 8.9-inch (diagonal) screen, with a native resolution of 1,024x600, is actually a passive touch screen, which lets you navigate menus with the included stylus or your finger. Though the system lacks an optical drive, it does include an Atheros 802.11a/b/g wireless card and such security features as a Trusted Platform Module and a biometric fingerprint reader. Our test unit, the P1510D, cost $1,649 for 512MB RAM and a 30GB hard drive--a pretty good price for such a small laptop, and $200 less than the only other pint-sized tablet on the market, the Motion LS800 slate tablet.
