Epson has announced a new affordable home theater projector, the Home Cinema 1040, which offers a relatively high brightness and two HDMI ports.

The 1040 includes Epson's 3LCD technology at a 1080p resolution which boasts a brightness of 3,000 lumens and can be used in semi-lit environments.

The 1040 offers vertical and horizontal keystone via its Easy-Slide system for image correction. It also features a new home screen, which Epson claims offers easy navigation and setup.

Connectivity includes two HDMI ports with MHL, which can also be used to connect a Roku Streaming Stick .

The 1040 offers a similar specification to the already-announced and cheaper 740HD with the main difference being that the 740HD is only 720p.

The Epson Home Cinema 1040 will be available in September for $749.
