Electrolux

Unveiled at the 2016 Kitchen and Bath Show in Las Vegas, the $1,099 Electrolux Perfect Steam 600 series dryer is packed with features such as modes for speed drying and removing wrinkles. It also boasts a huge, 8-cubic-foot drum.

Lots of room and extra functions

The Perfect Steam offers a long list of abilities that go beyond removing excess water from fabric. Have a bunch of clean dress shirts crumpled up like a wad of tin foil? Not a problem. Toss them into the machine and according to Electrolux, the Perfect Steam's "Instant Refresh" function will render them wrinkle-free in 10 minutes.

For items with serious funk, Electrolux claims running articles through a Sanitize option removes "99.9 percent of harmful bacteria."

Of course, the Perfect Steam's main purpose is to dry clothes straight from the wash, and on paper the appliance looks to have the chops. Boasting a cavernous drum with an 8-cubic-foot capacity, the dryer should be able to handle four typically sized washer loads at once. If you're in a hurry, the machine features a Fast Dry Cycle to remove water from clothing within 15 minutes. Electronic sensors also measure dryness to automatically stop the cycle and guard against over-drying.

Eager to place a Perfect Steam Dryer in your home? You'll have to wait until at least April 2016, which is when Electrolux expects to release the 600 series dryers to the public. Keep in mind, the Perfect Steam 600 dryer line includes both electric and gas-driven models, as well as your choice of Island White and Titanium colors. Prices for all these units are set at a cool $1,099, which is quite competitive compared to similar models from GE ($1,200), Samsung ($1,199) and LG ($1,100).
