In brief

Canon's A-series of PowerShot cameras haven't always been the most exciting product offerings, but the 2011 crop of cameras unveiled at CES this year is trying to change that.

The A3200 IS joins two other cameras, the A2200 and A1200, in being the first entry-level models from Canon to feature HD video recording at 720p. Trickle-down features from other cameras include six creative filters for different looks, including miniature, fish-eye, poster, super vivid, toy camera and monochrome effects.

With a 14.1-megapixel sensor, the A3200 IS also comes equipped with a 5x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD screen. More excitingly though, it also has the processor from Canon's higher-end digital cameras and SLRs, the Digic 4. It will be available from February or March 2011.
