A little about me

Flag Profile

Short Bio: I am an Aerospace Toolmaker by trade. I have over 35 years of experience fabricating, reworking and maintaining Aerospace Production Assembly Jigs, Fixtures, and related Tooling. I started out using optical transits and levels, then to electronic theodolites and now operate laser trackers. Changes in technology has also changed the toolmakers scope of duties. C.A.D. model based designs are now done for both the air-frame and the assembly tools. This has brought about the need to be able to build and inspect right to the C.A.D. model. CMM's and Laser Trackers now use the same Mastercam software that is used to program many of our modern 4 and 3 axis machines being used to fabricate the production parts. This requires the toolmaker to not only know how to fabricate these tools, but also has to know how to use this model based software to operate the laser trackers used in tool fabrication. Then, with each new version released, comes a need for him to upgrade his computer to run this new software, which brings me to CNET. Here I can get answers to my questions.
