Although Sony released the Xperia M in the UK, the unlocked Android handset is available in the US as well.
At $249.99, the 4G Xperia M comes in four colors (black, white, purple, and yellow), and offers a 4-inch display with a rather low 854x480-pixel resolution and 245ppi.
Though it doesn't ship with the most recent version of Android, it does run 4.1 Jelly Bean. Underneath its hood you'll find a 1,700mAh battery (which has a reported talk time of around 9 to 10 hours) and a 1GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro dual-core processor.
For all your casual photography needs, the device features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of shooting 720p video, and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for Web chatting and vanity shots.
In terms of memory, you'll get 1GB of RAM, about 4GB of internal storage, which you can expand by up to 32GB.
As with most Sony Xperia handsets, the M sports a stylish design that is sure to please. However, given its midrange specs and the fact that it only has HSPA+ capabilities, it isn't a particularly alluring unlocked handset given its nearly $250 price.
