Panasonic EM60 LED TV: A dumb version of a good Smart TV

The Panasonic TC-L50EM60

CNET did not review the EM60 series of LED-based LCD TVs, but we did review the E60 series.

According to Panasonic, the only differences between the two are that the E60 lacks Smart TV, and has slightly deeper cabinet and a slightly wider bezel around the screen. The E60 also has fewer HDMI inputs (two instead of three) and USB ports (one instead of two). Since it doesn't have Smart TV, it also lacks the E60's Ethernet port and Wi-Fi, and related features like DLNA media streaming.

Based upon their other similarities, we expect the EM60 series to have very similar picture quality to the E60 we tested. That expectation, combined with its affordable price, should make it a compelling buy for people who don't care about the Smart TV features.
