Alcatel's budget Fire C rocks smartphone skills on the cheap
BARCELONA, Spain -- Clearly targeting the entry level smartphone market, Alcatel has unveiled the Fire C. Expected to cost an amazingly affordable 59 euros unlocked, the handset will run Mozilla's Firefox mobile operating system.
Other details for the phone include a 3.5-inch HVGA screen and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. A VGA camera will take care photo duties. As you can see from these specifications, you'll no doubt get what you pay for in terms of performance here. Indeed Alcatel's described components place the Fire C well below even rock-bottom Android handsets.
Alcatel plans to ship the Fire C globally by the second quarter of 2014. Regions in which you'll likely see the device are Asia and Europe.
