ZTE brings 5G to MWC with the Axon 10 Pro, debuts Blade V10 too

With everyone else talking about 5G at MWC 2019, ZTE wanted in on the fun. So, it brought its new Axon 10 Pro to Barcelona.

The phone sports a 6.47-inch AMOLED screen.

The 4G version of the phone might come to the US this summer, ZTE said.

The 5G version of the Axon 10 Pro will launch in select markets in Europe and China in June.

The 5G phone will use the same Snapdragon 855 processor as the 4G version but step up to the Snapdragon X50 5G modem and employ a liquid cooling system.

On the first day of MWC 2019, the company unveiled its new Axon 10 Pro phone, as well as the Blade V10 Pro, to the crowds in Barcelona.

ZTE said the 5G phone should support download speeds of up to 2Gbps. Of course, that will depend on the speed of the network it's connecting to.

ZTE did say the Axon 10 Pro 5G will have a Snapdragon 855 processor and a fingerprint scanner embedded in its screen.

On the back are a wide-angle camera, a standard lens and a third telephoto camera.

But for you all selfie lovers, the front camera has a 20-megapixel resolution.

The phone also has "the Smart SAR solution to intelligently reduce electromagnetic radiation and minimize damage to the human body on the basis of ensuring signals."

ZTE Blade V10

Another phone ZTE introduced was the Blade V10. The phone will be available in China and countries in Europe and Latin America starting next month.

Its showcase feature is a front-facing 32-megapixel camera, which also has AI capabilities like scene recognition.

On the back are two cameras: a 16- and 5-megapixel shooter. The Blade V10 also has a 6.3-inch display, runs Android 9.0 and is equipped with a 2.1GHz octa-core processor.

The company also created a cheaper version of the Blade V10, known as the Blade V10 Vita (right). It's priced at around $200 and has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

Though pricing has not been released, a ZTE representative told CNET that we should expect the V10 to cost around $300 (about £230 or AU$420).
