The Boost Max+ from ZTE is available to Boost Mobile customers for $200 prepaid and features an expansive display, a quad-core processor and Android Lollipop.

A whopper of a screen

The device has a 5.7-inch display and 1,280x720-pixel resolution. Given its spacious size, there's much more room to view content when browsing the Web and using apps.

Hefty measurements

Measuring 6.5 by 3.2 by 0.4 inches and weighing 6.9 ounces, the Boost Max+ is big even when compared to phones with the same display size.

Going for the gold

The Boost Max+ is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and a 3,400mAh battery. Altogether, it's wrapped in an elegant, gold metal-like material.

Using the small indentation on the top corner, you can pry this section off with your fingernail to access the SIM card.

Expandable memory available

On the bottom right edge there's a button that quickly launches the camera.

Running the Google Android 5.1 OS

The Boost Max+ ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes with a number of preloaded Google apps including Gmail, Chrome and Maps. You'll also find some of Boost's own apps loaded on the phone.

Plenty of camera and editing tools

The 8-megapixel rear camera has three shooting modes that you can switch between by swiping left and right. The default setting is "Auto," which includes a timer and geotagging. The camera can also record up to 1,080p video.

Inexpensive, but not the best

At $200, the ZTE Boost Max+ looks tempting if you're looking for a large but affordable phone. It does cut corners, though, with its camera quality and user experience. Click here for more information about ZTE devices.
