World Press Photo 2010 winners announced

One of the world's most prestigious competitions for professional documentary photographers, World Press Photo, has announced its winners for 2010.

The competition, now in its 53rd year, received over 100,000 entries for the main award which includes a cash prize and a Canon digital SLR. Italian photographer Pietro Masturzo took out the World Press Photo of the year with an image of women protesting election results from a rooftop in Tehran. Amongst the other winners were three Australian photographers; Adam Ferguson, Craig Golding and Justin McManus.
