A full Windows 8 laptop, Windows tablet and Android tablet with a cool hinge, the Ativ Q is a fascinating product.

The Ativ Q runs a stock, vanilla version of Android Jelly Bean, but this is not just another Android tablet. It has a very cool trick up its sleeve.

That trick is that it also runs full Windows 8 as well as Android. That's full Windows 8, folks, not the RT version.

The 13-inch screen has an incredible resolution of 3,200x1,800, which in English means it looks lovely. It can fold back on top of the keyboard so it looks more like a normal tablet.

You can fold the screen so it is parallel to the keyboard, although we're not sure why you would want to.

When we folded the screen in our short tests, it felt smooth, although the hinges seemed a little delicate.

The vertical bit is where the processor lives, and it also has USB 3 and mini-HDMI ports.

There's no room for a trackpad to control the mouse, but Samsung has provided a track point. Or you can simply jab at the touchscreen.

The Windows home button will take you out of Android mode and back into proper Windows 8 when you're ready.

The keys are relatively small, so don't buy this if you want a full-size keyboard.

There's the power port with what looks like an Ethernet port that works via an adapter.
