Office 2016 has arrived

It's here! It's updated! Office 2016 is the newest version of Microsoft's business software. It's been updated with brand-new sharing features that make it much more useful and more capable of competing with Google Docs.

Real-time typing

Office 2016 now lets multiple people edit a document at once and see whatever one is contributing. Each person is shown with their name above their cursor so you can keep track of what's being added or deleted.

Sharing and Skype built in

In Office apps you can now head to the new sharing menu (shown right). This is where you can share the file with collaborators and see when someone is editing with you.

From that menu, you can also initiate Skype conversations, voice calls or video calls.

Smart Lookup

Bing is now built-in to Office, too. The new Smart Lookup tool will run a Bing search right in Word, PowerPoint or Excel.

Tell Office what you need

The new "Tell me" search feature helps you find features that are buried in each app's menu. Use the search bar near the top to type out the feature or tool you need and Office will pull it up immediately.

Find your way

When you reopen a file, the app will help you jump back to the last place you edited, so you can pick up where you left off.
