Verizon iPhone 4 (photos)

The Verizon iPhone 4 has much in common with its AT&T counterpart, but varying features and different performance give it enough room to stand apart. It won't vastly change your iPhone experience, but we welcome the consumer choice that it brings.

The Verizon iPhone has all the trademarks of Apple's polished design.

Yet, if you flip the phones on their left sides, you'll notice a couple of differences. On the Verizon iPhone 4 (left) the ringer switch is closer to the volume controls. Also, due to the CDMA antenna design, Apple moved the gap from the top of the device to the left side.

When compared with the AT&T iPhone (top), you can see the Verizon handset no longer has a gap next to the antenna jack.

Due to the way that CDMA operates, the Verizon iPhone can't access data networks when you're on a call. If you try to do so, you'll see this notification.

The hot-spot feature will track how many devices are connected at one time. The option for the hot spot sits under the main Settings menu.

The Verizon iPhone runs iOS 4.2.6. It's a unique version that brings CDMA support and the hot-spot feature.

On the Verizon iPhone's rear side you'll find the same camera lens and flash.
