The world's wildest vaporizers
Vape like a king, a Time Lord or Sherlock Holmes with some of the most colorful vaporizers and mods around.
Vape volcano
Cigarettes are so last century. Vaping is the modern-day way to breathe in nicotine (or other substances). Check out these vaporizers that range from luxurious objects of desire to strange sci-fi mods.
Keep in mind that most of these links lead to sites that require you to confirm you're of legal smoking age where you reside.
If you want a vaporizer that also looks like it could double as a retro sci-fi prop, the Volcano Digit from Storz & Bickel is for you. This is an LED-equipped modernized version of the Volcano Classic, which was first introduced to the market in 2000, making it a pioneer among vaporizers.
Don't fly with this
The US Transportation Security Administration wasn't amused when a traveler attempted to bring this grenade-shaped vaporizer onto a plane in 2014. The TSA says e-cigarettes and vaping devices are allowed in carry-on and checked bags ... unless they look like a grenade or other weapon.
Fidget while you vape
The vaping world isn't immune from the fidget spinner craze. The Coil Master Spinner 1 is an add-on spinner that fits onto your vaporizer so you can entertain your thumb while you vape.
Loto Lux
The Loto Lux is a futuristic-looking vaporizer with a sci-fi design sense that's softened by the wood accents. It uses induction heating and hooks up with an app that lets you dial in all the details for vaping dry herbs, liquids and concentrates.
Vape with a cooling coil
Storz & Bickel, the same folks who make the Volcano vaporizer, also offer this interesting-looking option named the "Plenty." What really stands out here is the cooling coil that "ensures an extra smooth airflow with almost no draw resistance." It looks like something you might find in a tool chest next to a set of screwdrivers.
Nintendo case mod
Nice Mods, a custom-made vaping equipment company, is no longer in business, but this Nintendo-style vape remains a testament to its creativity. Nice Mods used an original NES controller, gutted it and installed a compact vaporizer.
Sonic vaporizer
Etsy seller geekecig created this "Doctor Who" sonic-screwdriver-shaped vape, which was snapped up by a customer back in 2014. Geekecig modified one of the 11th Doctor's toy sonics, but also lists one of the materials as "wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff."
The sonic vaporizers are no longer available through Etsy. Geekecig announced these sci-fi mods have been retired for good, but you can still enjoy the image.
Firefly 2
The understated-looking Firefly 2 vaporizer hides some impressive vaping tech inside. It uses "55 laser-drilled micro jets of superheated air" to heat up plant matter or concentrates. It takes just 3 seconds to reach 400 Fahrenheit (204 Celsius) and it all starts with the push of a button.
An optional Firefly app lets you connect to your vape and choose from six preset temperatures. You can also check on the gadget's battery level through the app. This is the vape for people who like classy gadgets.
Old-school vaping
This might look like something Sherlock Holmes would use, but the Kamry K1000 Epipe mod mashes up a vintage pipe with a modern-day vaporizer. This would go well with a velvet jacket and a leather lounge chair.
Vaping through time
Instructables user antagonizer offers step-by-directions for modifying a vaporizer into a "Doctor Who" Tardis tribute. Perhaps that makes this a Tardiv (Time and Relative Dimensions in Vaping).
Han Solo vape wrap
As with many other electronic devices, you can personalize your vaporizer with a stick-on wrap. This particular wrap comes from J-Wraps and is called "concrete man," though we all recognize the Han Solo-in-carbonite Star Wars imagery. The wrap is available for a long list of vape models.
Steampunk vape
If you have a thing for the steampunk style of brass and gears, then you'll enjoy the pocket-sized Tesla Nano 100W Steampunk vaporizer. It goes great with goggles and faux-Victorian clothing.
A musical vape
The crossover group of fans who enjoy both vaping and classical music would find a vaporizer muse in the now-discontinued Kamry Vio. The violin-shaped gadget lends a classy touch to the vaporizer world and came with a catchy tagline: "Music for your lungs."
Vape arcade
These sold-out vaporizer mods from The Vaping Buddha look like mini versions of Pac-Man and Space Invaders arcade machines. The games aren't playable, but the built-in vaping part works.
Vape stomp box
This is a Boss DS-1 distortion pedal normally used to add crunch to a guitar sound. Here, it's also a vaporizer mod from Silver Steam Vapor. You trigger it by pushing on the foot-pedal mechanism. It's a vaping system that would fit right in with a rock star's rig.
Vape saber
Star Wars fan and YouTube user PinetreeStudios modified a mini version of Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber from "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" into a working vape pen. The battery hides inside the lightsaber hilt and different atomizers screw into the top.
