Up close with the Dell Inspiron 11 3000, a new $199 laptop (pictures)

Dell's Inspiron 11 3000 laptop starts at just $199 in the United States.

The 1,366x768 screen isn't great, but it isn't bad for the money.

It comes in three colors: red, blue, and white. Here's the cherry red model.

You get just two USB ports, a a full-size HDMI port, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headset jack. Here's the right set of ports.

The lids of these laptops are nice and glossy, but can pick up fingerprints fast.

The keyboard's responsive, but a little shallow, and I definitely made a few typos the first time I tried it.
