Ubi bets big on the voice-activated smart home (pictures)
Startup Unified Computer Intelligence Corporation wants to weave voice control into your smart home, starting with SmartThings and Belkin WeMo.

Ubi is a voice-activated product that costs $299 (directly converted, roughly £190 in the UK and AU$350 in Australia).
It's designed to help you navigate your day-to-day.
Use Ubi to answer questions about the weather, play music or automate select third-party devices.
Specifically, Ubi can work with Belkin WeMo products, SmartThings, Ecobee, Nest and more.
It connects to your local Wi-Fi network.
It also has a series of built-in sensors.
Use the Ubi Web portal or UbiCC Android app to access the functionality remotely.
You can use it to view existing rules or create new ones and to check in on the status of your Ubi and other connected devices.
Simply say, "Okay, Ubi" to unlock its voice control feature.
The LED strip will turn blue to indicate that it heard the trigger phrase.
Then it will turn green to let you know that it's ready to listen to your questions or commands.
