The superyacht mothership

It's fun to imagine sailing on some of the world's most luxurious yachts, but perhaps even more fun to dream up superyacht designs.

Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Zaha Hadid is known for her sensuous, organic forms, and she has teamed up with German shipbuilder Blohm + Voss to design a flotilla of uber-gorgeous yachts. It consists of a 420-foot mothership, seen here, and five Unique Circle yachts at 295 feet long.

Cocoon

Compare it to what you will -- a cocoon, bird's nest, or cheese grater -- the 420-foot mothership, with its complex, interwoven superstructure, is pure style.

Swimming pool

It's hardly surprising that the Jazz would have a swimming pool, which is partially indoors.

Sci-fi sleek

The interior of this superyacht designed by architect Zaha Hadid evokes a science-fiction film set.

Top-down Jazz

This overhead view of the Jazz, a 295-foot Unique Circle superyacht designed by Zaha Hadid, shows its pared-down superstructure, which still has some elements from the mothership.

Deck with a view

The stern area of the Jazz is largely open to the sea, and continues the motif of elongated ellipses seen in the mothership.

The yacht design visualizations were done by Germany's Moka Studio.
