The bottom line: The NEC MultiSync PA271W is an incredibly performing monitor that may be too expensive for what it offers.

Creative Labs ZiiSound D5

The good: Speaker bar with integrated Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming; compact design ideal for shelf placement; optimized Bluetooth dongle included for iPods and iPhone.

The bad: Cloth covering is susceptible to fraying; fairly pricey.

The bottom line: Though the price of the Creative ZiiSound D5 Bluetooth speaker is a bit steep, its simple, attractive design and decent sound make it recommendable.

Gateway One ZX6900-01e

The good: Large, 23-inch display; Blu-ray drive; fast performance from Intel Core i3 CPU; great value for its price.

The bad: Unresponsive touch screen; no HDMI input.

The bottom line: The Gateway One ZX6900-01e is a great deal thanks to its 23-inch display, Blu-ray drive, and speedy performance. It has a few annoying shortcomings; a lack of an HDMI-input, in particular, keeps it from greatness, but overall we'd recommend this desktop to anyone in the market for a well-rounded all-in-one PC.

Dell Inspiron 14R

The good: Streamlined look, easy-to-use keyboard and touch pad; reasonable price for its components; includes solid ATI graphics for gaming

The bad: Awkward port layout, short battery life.

The bottom line: Dell's next-generation Inspiron laptops have arrived. While it doesn't reinvent the wheel, the Inspiron 14R presents a very solid package of Core i3 performance and ATI dedicated graphics for a fair price.

Samsung Gravity 3 - blue (T-Mobile)

The good: The attractive Samsung Gravity 3 receives a makeover from its previous version while keeping many of its predecessor's best features, including Web mail and Exchange e-mail support, TeleNav turn-by-turn directions, and a full QWERTY keyboard.

The bad: Unfortunately, the Gravity 3 lost the two soft keys from its slide-out keyboard in the upgrade. E-mail is clunky to use, and there's no dedicated headset jack for listening to music or making wired calls.

The bottom line: The Samsung Gravity 3's full QWERTY keyboard and messaging features are enough to satisfy most heavy communicators, with other advanced features icing the cake. At $50 with a two-year service agreement, the Gravity is a good midlevel option for those who aren't ready to jump into the smartphone arena.

LG Sentio (T-Mobile)

The good: The LG Sentio is a slim, lightweight phone that has a 3.0-megapixel camera, an HTML Web browser, support for 7.2Mbps 3G speeds, and a music player.

The bad: The LG Sentio's touch screen isn't as responsive as we would like, and its text input area feels rather small.

The bottom line: While we have a few issues with its touch screen, the LG Sentio is still a solid midrange multimedia phone for T-Mobile customers.
