Top Kindle 2 covers and accessories photos
Looking to deck out your new Kindle 2 with a little flair? Here's a look at some of the most popular cases and accessories out there. We'll add more as they're released.
Amazon's Kindle 2 Leather Cover is the most popular cover for the Kindle 2. It costs $29.99.
If you want to save a few bucks, Belkin offers a Neoprene Sleeve Case for Amazon Kindle 2 ($24.99).
The Patagonia Book Case for Kindle 2 is similar to Belkin's sleeve, but costs more at $39.99.
The $14.99 Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light illuminates your Kindle 2 screen in dimly lit environments.
The iGo Everywhere Universal Wall (AC) and Auto (DC) Charger with retractable cable is selling for $19.99.
There are hair weaves and there are Kindle cover weaves. Cole Haan's is called Hand-Woven and it goes for a whopping $119.99.
This Black Pebble-Grain Cole Haan cover goes for $99.99.
If you lose your power adapter or just want an extra one, Amazon sells the Kindle 2 Replacement Power Adapter for $19.99.
At $19.95 a pop, GelaSkins offers several stick-on skins in different designs for the Kindle 2. They protect against scratches, but not drops.
This GelaSkin is called Bookshelf.
M-Edge has a couple of Kindle 2 covers--the Platform Jacket and Prodigy , which look similar from the outside. They both come in several colors.
This is how the Platform Jacket looks when transformed into an easel. The flexible e-Luminator light is an optional accessory that fits into the cover.
The e-Luminator light is battery powered. At the time of this writing, the light was sold out, but it should be available soon.
This is the Octovo sleeve. It's stylish and relatively affordable at $21.95, but your Kindle 2 could drop out from the opening at the top if you tip the case upside down.
Oberon Design offers several hand-tooled leather Kindle 2 covers for $75.
There's a wide selection of cool Kindle 2 skins at Decalgirl.com for $14.99.
CaseCrown's Double Memory Foam Pouch Case with a front pocket stores not only your Kindle 2 but your Kindle 2 charger (yes, that's what the front pocket is for). This $21 case comes in several designs and if you don't need the extra pocket, CaseCrown also makes a model without a pocket for a couple bucks less.
The Incipio Technologies underGROUND Case for Amazon Kindle 2 is more of a slipcover. But it does have a strap on the top corner that secures your Kindle 2 in place, which is nice.
JAVOEdge makes a couple of Kindle 2 cases. The model here is a vertical "flip" version, while the more standard book-style case has a horizontal orientation. Both cost $49.95.
The JAVOEdge Amazon Kindle 2 Flip Case flipped open.
Here's the JAVOEdge Flip Case propped up in easel mode.
The M-edge GO Jacket ($29.99) is very similar to Amazon's own Kindle 2 cover, but it's made of "genuine" leather. It's also available in multiple colors, including purple.
The OCTO Metal Stand ($14.99)is designed to keep your Kindle 2 propped up so you don't have to hold it.
Amazon
The OCTO Splash Proof Case ($19.99) puts a thin cover over your entire Kindle 2 (there's a transparent plastic cover over the screen). It's water-resistant but not water-proof.
The Flex Neck Reading Light ($14.99) isn't designed specifically for the Kindle 2, but it works just fine with it--or any e-book reader (or standard book for that matter).
