Tokyo's massive new Gundam robot statue blew our minds
We made the pilgrimage to Daiba in Tokyo, Japan to check out the new, 1:1-scale Gundam, and it's a remarkable thing.

Here's the new giant Unicorn Gundam that made its debut in Daiba, in southeast Tokyo, late last month.
As you can see, the statue of the Gundam robot is huge.
It's 1:1 scale with the real thing, as a matter of fact. 64.6 feet (19.7 meters) tall, to be exact.
Despite its massive size, the statue's incredibly intricately detailed and covered in warning stickers.
The robot from manga and anime stands outside the DiverCity Mall, where you can find Bandai's hallmark Gundam store on the top floor.
The mall also has an awesome skate park on the roof, but that's a topic for another gallery.
The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam character made its debut in the 2006 Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn manga, and was later adapted into anime.
Every single detail is 100 percent represented here.
And that includes the transformation into Destroy Mode!
Roughly every two hours, the Unicorn performs a show, with the white panels sliding apart and exposing the red interior for Destroy Mode.
Come at night to see a projection show that goes along with it.
If you're anywhere near Tokyo, you absolutely have to come see the Unicorn Gundam.

Even if you're not a fan of Gundam, just standing near this massive bot is a breathtaking experience.
But you definitely don't want to be under this thing's foot.
Note the Gundam's single unicorn-like horn.
The Unicorn Gundam robotstands 5.5 feet (1.7 meters) taller than the previous RX-78-2 Gundam statue that stood at the Tokyo mall.
It's unclear how long the Unicorn will guard DiverCity mall, but given the popularity of the statue and the store it guards, it'll likely be staying for a while. Click through the rest of our gallery for more views of the giant robot.
