The slots are nice and wide. All toasters boast of "wide slots," but this one actually justifies it, giving a full 1 7/16 inch of clearance from grate to grate. That's significantly more than the comparably priced Cuisinart CPT-440, which only gives 1 1/8 inch of usable space.

The sides stay cool as you cook. The top gets quite hot, but the front, back and sides all stay below 140 degrees Farenheight (at which temperature you'll burn yourself) after a single use.

The presets surround a simple LED.

You can select your darkness setting from 1-7 using the arrow keys. The presets light up when you press them.
