This Yale touchscreen deadbolt is the slimmest yet
Yale's $169 Assure Lock SL is a sleek and slim touchscreen deadbolt. A $50 network module adds smart home integration.
Slim styling with the same old keypad
Yale's Assure Lock SL looks better than all its predecessors, but Yale didn't change anything about the keypad itself.
On the inside
The interior side of the Assure Lock SL is still the bulky housing we're used to by now with smart locks.
Yale Secure App
The Assure SL Lock works with the Yale Secure app, if the lock is fitted with an iM1 network module for Apple HomeKit. Zigbee and Z-Wave users do not have app access.
Audio keypad and voice guidance
The Assure Lock SL's keypad has audio settings for the keypad touchscreen, and the lock's menu includes voice guidance.
App and lock settings
Through the Yale Secure app, HomeKit users can check battery status, manage up to 25 PIN codes, see current lock status, customize lock settings, and add a new lock.
Yale's network modules
Several Yale locks can be connected to smart home platforms using network modules. These are available in Zigbee, Z-Wave and Homekit (iM1) versions.
Network module installation
Network modules for Assure Lock SL slide into place above the batteries, inside the interior housing of the lock.
Creating PIN codes
Within the Yale Secure app or via the keypad, you can create up to 25 PIN codes. With a network module enabled, Assure Lock SL can accept up to 250 PIN codes.
Battery power
The Assure SL is powered by four AA batteries. There is a red indicator light for low battery power, and a pair of 9V jumpstart nodes for backup power.
